A man threatened shop staff with a knife, demanding cash before fleeing the scene in Grimsby. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.
The police got the call just after 6:35 AM. The suspect entered a shop on Broadway and made their demands. Luckily, no one got hurt during this tense situation.
After grabbing some till drawers with cash and tobacco, the person ran off towards Swiftsure Crescent. Officers quickly arrived and searched the area. They found what looked like a knife and some of the stolen items on Hamilton Close.
A scene guard is set up outside the shop while the police investigate. They’re asking anyone with information or footage to come forward. Detective Inspector Darren Gray mentioned that incidents like this can worry the community.
He reassured everyone that they’re working hard to find those responsible. They’re doing area searches, talking to locals, and reviewing CCTV footage. If you saw anything or have dashcam footage, please call their non-emergency number and reference log 53 from January 20.
