Rajkot: As soon as one year has passed since the TRP Game Zone fire incident, which has become a very sad tragedy in the history of the city, the demand for justice for the dead has started once again. 27 innocent people were killed in this terrible fire that broke out due to human error on May 25, 2024.

On the completion of one year of this incident, the Congress organized a rally from Trikonbagh to the Municipal Corporation office this morning. Protests were registered in this rally with slogans of “BJP Hai Hai”. But as soon as the rally started, the police took immediate action and detained all the Congress workers.

There were also scenes of scuffles between the police and Congress workers. On the other hand, a tight police deployment was made in the Municipal Corporation office area so that law and order could be maintained.

The city Congress president said, “We will continuously put pressure on the government through various programs for 6 days from today.” Under these programs:

  • May 20: Commissioner’s house-to-house siege and leaflet distribution
  • May 21: Presentation to the Police Commissioner and Nyaya Sankalp Rath
  • May 22: Stickers on rickshaws and messages in areas
  • May 23: More leaflet distribution
  • May 24: Details of the government’s role announced
  • May 25: Candle march at the District Panchayat Chowk

The Congress has accused the government that after the fire incident, only lower-level municipal officials have been arrested and the investigation has been conducted slowly. Earlier, there has been an attempt to save the photos that went viral, the licensing officers, and the IPS, IAS.

According to the report, the TPO did not take any steps to demolish the illegally running game zones, but caution was not taken. The Congress also demanded an investigation from an impartial officer like Nirlipta Rai, but the government did not show any seriousness.
